Oilers Sign Top Flight Scorer
Sniper Beauregard Agrees To Terms
Left winger David Beauregard, who’s averaged 43 goals a season over a nine-year professional career, has reached a two-year agreement to play for the Tulsa Oilers.
“David is a cornerstone type player. I expect David to produce and lead our team. He will be our go to guy,” Oilers head coach Butch Kaebel said. “Every team at this level wanted him and it says a lot for our organization and the city of Tulsa that he chose the Oilers.”
Beauregard earned the Central Hockey League Rookie of the Year award in 1997-98 when he scored 44 goals for the Wichita Thunder. The 30-year old 6-foot, 190 pounder was a member of the Fort Wayne Komets championship team in the United Hockey League in 2002-03. He’s played in four other league championship finals.
He’s displayed a knack for the dramatic as he ended a marathon game six of the UHL semi-final series last season scoring a hat trick for the Danbury Trashers against the Muskegon Fury. His third goal in that game came in the third overtime.
“I had a lot of options and I talked with my wife and for the security I wanted to play in Tulsa. I heard great things about the Tulsa organization and I remember it from going there when I played with Wichita,” Beauregard said. “Plus I wanted to get back to the south where I love the warm weather.
“Butch Kaebel wants to win and so do I,” Beauregard said.
“When you’re talking with players you have a checklist of things you go over and David certainly meets all of those items on the list,” Kaebel said. “He’s definitely going to be a strong addition to our team and he and his wife are going to be a strong addition to the community.”
Oiler season tickets for the 2006-07 season are now on sale. The prices are the
same as the 2005-06 season, ranging from $300 to $475. The Oilers have also instituted an
automatic payment plan to make purchasing season tickets even easier and more convenient. Also new this year is a 10 game flex pack. For more information call the Oilers at (918) 632-7825.
