July 11, 2006 - Broomfield, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Rage Hockey Club today announced the addition of former ECHL defenseman Jordan Little for the inaugural 2006-07 season. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native is the team’s fifth player signed this off-season.

“Jordan is a big guy who is skilled and solid on the blueline. I’ve heard a lot of good things about him,” said Tracy Egeland, head coach. “He’s coming off of an injury plagued season. Now that he is healthy, he will have the opportunity to further his professional career. I expect him to do very well and even take a key role on this team.”

Little, 24, played 14 games in between injuries last season for the Bakersfield Condors and the Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL. He saw his first professional ice time in 2004-05 with the Edmonton Roadrunners of the American Hockey League immediately following his collegiate career.

The 6-foot-4, 217 pound blueliner, played three seasons for the University of Manitoba (Canadian Interuniversity Sport), earning 34 points on 14 goals and 20 assists in 100 games. He racked up 216 penalty minutes. During the 2004-05 season, Little helped the Bisons to their most successful campaign in five years. He also received the Mike Ridley Award for superior athletic ability, good academic standing and high level of leadership as a full-time student.

Little made the Toronto Maple Leafs rookie roster in 2004 and posted 11 penalty minutes in three games. He was also selected as the No. 1 draft pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the finale of the CBC reality series “Making the Cut.”

A former MJHL All-Star with the Winkler Flyers, Little was selected as Team Captain of Team Manitoba at the Viking Cup International Hockey Tournament in 2001-02. In that tourney he was also named Player of the Game in the bronze medal game.

The Rage is slated to begin its inaugural season this October on the road. The Rage will begin play at home this November at the new, state-of-the-art Broomfield Event Center. The Rocky Mountain Rage is one of two expansion teams in the Central Hockey League’s 17-team field. The Rage will join the Colorado Eagles, Oklahoma City Blazers and Wichita Thunder in the Northwest Division.

Season Tickets are available now for the 2006-07 seasons by calling 303-439-RAGE. For more information, visit www.RockyMountainRage.com.
