July 25, 2006 - Arizona Sundogs Owner & Governor Eric Lacroix was named to the CHL's Competition Committee today, accepting an invitation extended to him by the League office.

The Competition Committee was formed in the Spring of 2005. This was an adaptation from the Rules Committee, which consisted of only Head Coaches, and now features three Governors and three Head Coaches. He will join Governors from the Wichita Thunder (Chris Presson) and the Colorado Eagles (Ralph Backstrom) as well as Head Coaches from the Corpus Christi Rayz (Ken McRae), the Laredo Bucks (Terry Ruskowski) and the Lubbock Cotton Kings (Chris Dashney).

In addition, Duane Lewis (Vice President of Operations), Leon Friedrich (Director of Hockey Operations), Wayne Bonney (Supervisor of Officials) and Tom Berry (Commissioner Emeritus) serve on the Committee as well. All work for the Central Hockey League.

"It is an honor for me to have been selected to sit on this committee," said Lacroix. "I feel that my experience both as a former player and member of a front office team with the Colorado Avalanche will enable me to help contribute to the primary goal of the committee - to make our great game even better."

The Competition Committee was instrumental in the development of the rule changes adopted by the CHL last season, and will continue to influence any moving forward. The committee meets several times throughout the year via conference call to discuss the current rules and their implementation, enforcement and progress, as well as to recommend
