The Corpus Christi Rayz Professional Hockey Team is proud to announce the creation of a brand new Dance Team for the 2006-2007 season. The all-new “Ice Girls” will appear at all Rayz home games, performing dance routines and interacting with fans. The Rayz are looking for energetic, talented and charismatic young ladies for the new-look team. Tryouts for the “Ice Girls” will be held Friday, July 28th through Sunday, July 30th at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club. The Rayz invite all interested candidates to put on their dancing shoes and come audition to be a member of the 2006-2007 “Ice Girls.”
The “Ice Girls” will appear at the American Bank Center for each Rayz home game during the season and make numerous public appearances throughout the year. The three-day auditions will consist of a Friday night session from 7:00-9:00pm, a Saturday session from 12:00pm-7:00pm and a Sunday session from 8:00am-4:00pm. All sessions will be held at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club, located on the corner of Airline and Holly, in Corpus Christi. All applicants will be required to learn and perform a choreographed dance, and conduct interviews with new “Ice Girls” Directors, Mary Jane Siebenthal and Droxine Gilmore.
“Ice Girl” candidates must be at least 18 years of age as of August 1, 2006, live within the immediate Coastal Bend area and be available for all Rayz home games and year-round public appearances. The candidates will be graded on their poise, personality, dancing strength, communication skills and their ability to work as a team. Applications must be completed and returned, along with a $15 registration fee and photograph, to the Rayz on or before the July 28th tryout date.
The Corpus Christi Rayz are currently in preparation for the 2006-2007 season. The Rayz return to the American Bank Center is only 99 days away. Corpus Christi has scheduled their home opener on October 21st. Season ticket packages and corporate sponsorship opportunities are currently available.
