On Monday night, the Colts and Dillas went at again in game three the final game of this three game set. San Angelo began the day just two game back of Edinburg and would try to win the series by taking game three. San Angelo sent out All-Star right-hander Adam Hanson against the Dillas southpaw Kyle Allen.
San Angelo wasted no time getting a run in the first on a Tony Sanguinetti RBI single and were up 1-0. Amarillo countered though with three in the bottom of the first, and one in the second, and were up 4-1. The Dillas would really break it open in the fourth as they batted around and scored five times to take a commanding 9-1 lead. The Colts battled back right away though in the top of the fifth, as they sent eight men to the plate scoring three times highlighted by a single by Tony Sanuinetti that drove in two, giving him three RBIs on the night, and it was 9-4. San Angelo scored two more times in the sixth highlighted by a J.J. Sherrill homer, his fifth of the year and the Colts were down just 9-6. Amarillo added another run on a RBI double by former Colts outfielder Bryce Morrison and it was 10-6 Dillas. Cody Palmer would then hit a two-run homer in the eighth, his fourth of the year, and the Colts were down just 10-8. Amarillo added a run in the bottom of the eighth to make it 11-8 as the Colts rally falls short and lose by that final.
The Colts now travel to Edinburg to take on the Coyotes for a three game set. The Colts send out southpaw David Glick against the Coyotes lefty Eric Steed. You can hear all the action starting with the pre-game show at 6:50 PM and the first pitch at 7:05 PM on COOL 100, KCLL 100.1 FM. |
