Oilers Sign David Masse from AHL
08/21/06 - Central Hockey League (CHL) Tulsa Oilers
Tulsa Oilers
Billiards aficionados are familiar with the term masse in which the cue ball dances around other balls on the table to get to the desired spot. Now Tulsa Oiler fans will know masse in another way.
David Masse (Mass-say), a six-foot, 175 pound forward has signed with the Oilers for the 2006-07 Central Hockey League season. The 23-year old Masse has played nearly 150 games in the American Hockey League over the past two seasons. He had 17 goals and 14 assists in 71 games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the top farm team of the New York Islanders, last season. He also played in seven Calder Cup playoff games.
"We were pleasantly surprised to be able to sign David," Oilers coach Butch Kaebel said. "He's a player that will help us reach the goals we have set. He's the latest addition in what has been a solid summer recruiting season. We want to surround David Beauregard with talented players and we think we' ve done that."
The Oilers begin the regular season on Friday October 20th in Wichita. Their home opener is Saturday October 28th at 7:35 p.m. also against Wichita. |
