Cincinnati, OH - The Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, signed goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris to a one-year contract, the club announced on Thursday (August 31). Grumet-Morris spent last season with the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League, appearing in 25 games, registering a 2.03 goals against average, an 18-5-2 record and three shutouts. The Bucks advanced to the CHL’s championship series, where they won the President’s Cup Finals. Posting the CHL’s best goals against average, second-best save percentage and third-best shutout total, Dov won eight games in the playoffs to help Laredo to its second President’s Cup in three seasons. He was also named to the CHL’s All-Rookie team. Dov also appeared in one game with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Grumet-Morris attended Harvard University, where he won 63 games during his four-year college career and set 13 school records along the way. Among his accomplishments were 11 shutouts, two Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) playoff championships and being named a Hobey Baker Award finalist for top college hockey player in the United States.
“Dov has an exceptional track record and his play the past couple of seasons has been superb,” Cincinnati Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. “It will be a huge asset to have someone of his capability between the pipes.”
