East Texas area would be awesome! I could only dream of that right now though. :(
Hopefully one day we'll get a team. |

Tyler has been without professional sports since the Roughnecks relocated to Jackson, Mississippi in early 2002. :icon_sad-smiley-020:

That would be the WildCatters (1994-97).
Back to the topic: my OTHER vote is for Tyler/Longview.
All we need is a pond and to convince the redneck element that this is a GOOD thing :icon_grinning-smiley-003: |

tyler_dynamos - It will happen. What about that old barn y'all have outside of Tyler? That could be renovated into a nice place. Or where does the college basketball team play?
I still say put a new arena halfway between Tyler and Longview, and develop the land around it (see: Beaumont-area arena). |

My God, have you SEEN the Oil Palace lately??? That thing won't survive the winds out here in Amarillo. It could barely survive a mild country concert.
I lived in Tyler for four years. That area is in more dire need of sports than any other place I've ever been. It's pretty sad when all you have to watch out there is high school and juco football. Don't get me wrong, they're good teams, but they need much more. |

THANK YOU !! I have screamed those very thoughts from the highest mountain for years !!
It is EXTREMELY frustrating living in a city with so much potential & the majority of its residents are content with high school football (YAWN!!!) as the highest form of sports entertainment . . . :icon_speechless-smiley-039: |

Tyler/Longview, Texas
When it comes to sports, public recreation and entertainment we have absolutely nothing. High school football, golf and movie theaters do not cut it.
We need CHL hockey and minor league baseball. |
