Fri Jun 30, 2006 2:19 pm   Oilers Make Deal w/ Thunder

The Tulsa Oilers have traded the Central Hockey League playing rights of defenseman Mario Joly to the Wichita Thunder in exchange for the CHL rights to goaltender David St. Germain, defenseman Andrew Nahirniak (pronounced nuh-her-KNEE-ack) and center Bryan Lachapelle.

St. Germain played 53 games last season for the expansion Youngstown SteelHounds and posted a 18-27-4 record with a 3.40 goals against average and a .902 save percentage. Nahirniak, 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, split last season between Fort Worth and Wichita and one goal and five assists with 53 penalty minutes in 47 games. Lachapelle, 5-foot-9, 185 pounds played 35 games for Amarillo last season and had three goals and five assists for eight points and 59 penalty minutes.

Oiler season tickets for the 2006-07 season are now on sale. The prices are the same as the 2005-06 season, ranging from $300 to $475. The Oilers have also instituted an automatic payment plan to make purchasing season tickets even easier and more convenient. Also new this year is a 10 game flex pack. For more information call the Oilers at (918) 632-7825.

And to think we thought we got rid of him! Augh, the agony!! I'm sure he'll be happy to see me around if he ends up having to play in Wichita. :icon_confused-smiley-017:

I totally didn't see this post, i must have been to focused on my quest to see it. I'm glad Marco is staying. I remember last season when you guys played us and it was at the cox convention center , we were sitting beside him and he was sick as a dog but still half suited up. Poor guy, i had to hand it to him, he was dedicated but he looked so miserable. He's really a good guy.

My little girl was traumatized, as i was, when we were there. Little boys running around with thier shirts off. UGH. Disgusting and so redneck. That's one tradition they need to drop.

not that the arena sucked..man we got lit up so bad they had to stop counting goals on the scoreboard. the first game we lost 28-0 to the blazers, 30-0 to the blazers...then we played the thunder and lost 9-1 and i scored the only goal. all in all we lost the tournament 94-4 lol that many goals scored on us. i have the most horrific memories at the myriad, but then again i got to watch my dusters get 30 straight points to upset the dawgz..it was great

Wow! I would never have thought hockey could have that many goals, lol. That's just nuts. What do you mean you scored the only goal? you lost me. Are you talking 28-0 and 30-0 in chl hockey?
