The 6,000-6,500 seat arena under discussion for Jackson could serve as a home to one of those teams, Ward 7 Councilwoman Margaret Barrett-Simon said. The facility is estimated to cost $40 million to $45 million.
"They are most interested in coming to Jackson, and the Central Hockey League is a major part of their operation," she said. "Hockey would be an important piece of this. |

Out of the 17 teams in the CHL right now, 7 of them are from Texas. This excludes Fort Worth who obviously is sitting out this season (sadly, was looking forward to my first road trip againist them this year) |

| I fully expect in the next couple of years the CHL will expand to Tennessee, Florida, etc. All the surrounding southern states basically. |

Every minor league team (aside from the USHL) has a Texas team in it.
Texas has the most minor league hockey teams in the country. |

| At this rate the CHL will be in as many states at the ECHL. The problem is for every team added a team is folding. The old WPHL had some fun road trips. Shreveport. Alexandria, and Tupelo. |

Didn't care for Alexandria that much. Not to crazy about that 49 corridor, but maybe that's just me.
The GlacierCats had the best logo of any team in the league.
Arkansas was a fun road trip. |
