Former CHL'ers Re-Sign with Cup Champs

July 17, 2006 - Former Central Hockey League forwards Keith Aucoin and Dave Gove have both re-signed last week with the reigning Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes. Both forwards have signed two-way agreements (NHL & AHL) for two seasons.
Aucoin was a member of the Memphis RiverKings during the 2004-2005 season while Gove played with the Laredo Bucks in 2002-2003. Aucoin registered 4 goals and 5 assists in 9 games with Memphis prior to joining the American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins, while Gove had 4 goals and 12 assists in 8 games with Laredo prior to advancing to the Utah Grizzles, then members of the AHL.
(Associated Press) RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms Wednesday (July 12th) on two-year contracts with forwards Keith Aucoin and Dave Gove, prospects who made their NHL debut last season and practiced with the team during its Stanley Cup run.
Aucoin will make $450,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 at the American Hockey League level in the first year of the deal, which will increase to $475,000 and $110,000 respectively in the second year. The deal guarantees him at least $125,000 per year.
Gove will make $450,000 at the NHL level in the first year and $475,000 in the second. He is also slated to make $75,000 each season at the AHL level with an annual guarantee of at least $100,000 per year.
Aucoin led Lowell of the AHL with 29 goals and 56 assists in 72 regular-season games last year. He also tallied an assist in seven games with Carolina last season, making his debut against Montreal on Jan. 23.
Gove had 20 goals and 26 assists in 65 regular-season games for Lowell. He made his NHL debut with Carolina at Montreal on Jan. 31.
