Bucks Sign Pair Of Forwards

LAREDO, Texas - The 2006 CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks announced today that they have signed forwards Mike Reagan and Andrew Shennan. The pair of forwards are the 14th and 15th players signed this off season by the Bucks. The Bucks are offering a family four pack of season tickets for the 2006-07 CHL regular season, which works out to just over $7 a seat per game and is a 48 % savings off walkup prices. Reagan, 5'7" 170 pounds, played the 2005-06 season in the Quebec Senior League with the Amqui Aces. In 41 games he totaled 32 goals and 38 assists.
"Reagan is small in stature, but big in heart," said Ruskowski. "He is very quick and has a nice goal scoring touch. He set all kinds of records playing for Flin Flon in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. He is a classy young man who wants to be the best he can be, plus he can play center ice or wing."
Prior to playing with Amqui, the 26 year old spent four years playing college hockey at Sacred Heart University. The native of Flin Flon, Manitoba, had 36 goals in 132 college games.
He graduated degree in 2004 with B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing.
In his junior career with the Flin Flon Bombers he played in a franchise record 239 games, scoring 82 goals and dishing out 127 assists. He is the fourth leading scorer in Bomber franchise history and holds the franchise record with five goals in one game. In addition he played in two SJHL All-Star games and participated in the 1999-2000 Viking Cup for Team Saskatchewan.
Shennan, 6'0" 200 pounds, played 47 games in the Ontario Hockey League this past season, splitting time between Sault St. Marie and Toronto. He had two goals and fours assists to go with 109 penalty minutes.
"This kid really intrigues me," said Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski. "The numbers may not impress you, but when you see him on the ice you start to understand his impact. He is a hard hitter who motivates others to work hard. He was voted one of the hardest workers and hitters in the OHL. I am anxious to see his physical presence on the ice."
Shennan, a native of Windsor, Ontario, played five years in the OHL. In 289 games he had 25 goals and 35 assists. The 21-year old spent his first three seasons with the Barrie Colts, followed by time with the Erie Otters and then Sault Ste. Marie and Toronto. |
